Distribution in South America: medusa — Pacific Ocean, Chile, from 30 ° S to 33.67 ° S (Fagetti 1973 p. 42 – 43; Palma & Rosales 1995); Atlantic Ocean, Brazil, no specific record, Argentina, at 37.65 ° S 55.88 ° W, and at northwest of South Georgia (Vanhöffen 1912; Kramp 1948; Vannucci 1951 a; Migotto et al. 2002; Genzano et al. 2008 a). Habitat: medusa – bathypelagic species occurring in all oceans of the south hemisphere (Kramp 1959 a).
