Indonesia records: Between Buru and Manipa Islands (Banda Arc) (Hansen 1910). Depth range: Closing vertical net, from 1536 m to the sea surface (Hansen 1910). Global distribution: This species is distributed in the Indian Ocean (W. M. Tattersall 1911, 1939; Illig 1930; Coifmann 1936; Pillai 1964), New Zealand (W. M. Tattersall 1923) and southeast of Durban, Africa (O. S. Tattersall 1955).
