Chrysopelea ornata

<p>Taxonomic identification was based on photographs taken on 28 July 2025. The body is slender; head distinct from neck; dorsal surface of head and body grey-blue, with bands in black and yellow on the head and black bands on the body; each light scale with a black median line (determination after Taylor (1965)) (Fig. 3c).</p>

<p>This is a widespread species in Vietnam. Elsewhere, the species has been known from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, West Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, China and the Philippines (Nguyen et al. 2009 and Pham et al. 2020).</p>

A juvenile individual was observed at Shikaribas Khola, and a dead specimen was found at Amlekhgunj-Hattisar (Fig. 23). This is the first record from Parsa National Park.
