Distribution. Widespread across the Indo-Pacific including Mozambique (Tibirica and Malaquias 2016), Myanmar (Sanpanich and Duangdee 2019), Vietnam (Martynov and Korshunova 2012), Australia (Nimbs and Smith 2016), the Philippines, Vanuatu (Zamora-Silva and Malaquias 2018), Madagascar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Guam, Marshall Islands, and Hawaii (Gosliner et al. 2008).
