Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — General distribution: Malaysia and Indonesia east to Palau and Solomon Islands, north to Philippines, south to Queensland (Australia). Found in coral-rich areas of reef flats, lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 3 – 50 m depth. Marine.
