Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — Maldives and Chagos Archipelago east to Philippines and Vanuatu, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in coral-rich areas of coral reefs, 5 – 30 m depth. Marine.
