Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — General distribution: Malaysia and Indonesia east to Hawaiian, Line and Tuamotu islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia, Lord Howe and Norfolk islands. Found in coral-rich areas of coral reefs, 0 – 20 m depth. Marine.
