Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — General distribution: Cocos-Keeling Islands (eastern Indian Ocean) and Indonesia east to Marshall Islands and New Guinea, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in coral-rich areas of coral reefs, 1 – 30 m depth. Marine.
