Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2, 4. — General distribution: Cocos-Keeling Islands (eastern Indian Ocean) and Indonesia east to Caroline and Tuamotu islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in lagoons and on seaward reef slopes, commensal with sea anemones, 1 – 38 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
