Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — General distribution: Red Sea and East Africa east to Caroline and Line islands and Tonga, north to southern Japan, south to northern New Zealand. Found in coastal and seaward coral reefs, 0 – 20 m depth. Marine.
